The last word

Mother language day

On Thursday 21st February, the United Nations celebrated Mother Language Day, which aims to promote the use of languages and prevent languages from dying out in an increasingly globalized world. Languages are essential to promoting cultural diversity, which is something that we are passionate about here at e-books for FE – Bulgarian, Spanish and Irish are just some of the languages that are spoken by our team!

To promote this important celebration, we created a language translation guide, which will guide you through the step-by-step process of translating our e-books on Ebook Central™ into other languages, using the Google Translate plugin. We hope that this guide will help users to overcome language barriers that might prevent some users from accessing e-books for FE.

We would love to hear your thoughts on using this guide – get in touch or Tweet us.

If you have a suggestion for March’s the last word, please get in touch at content.feandskills@jisc.ac.uk
